Testimonials

13th Oct 2009

Hi Alison

Just wanted to thank you for an excellent course on Sunday.

I have learnt so much, and the chance to handle the chickens and have a go at wing clipping which can be nerve-wrecking for a first timer has instilled so much more confidence.

I can't now wait to own some chickens for myself and look forward to dealing with you again in the future.

Any aspiring chicken keeper should attend this course!

Best wishes for your ongoing success.

Please feel free to use this testimonial.

Kind Regards

Samantha Tanner

Home > Pig Courses > Sausage Making

Sausage Making £15 per kilo of sausages including a recipe book.

Come and make your own sausages! It is great fun and you have delicious sausages to take home.

We have a whole pig de-boned and minced. And not just any old pig. We breed Gloucester Old Spot pigs. This means that the mince is absolutely the best you can get and is pure meat with just the right amount of fat; no additives whatsoever!

It is worth mentioning here that by buying Gloucester Old Spot meat you are helping save this rare breed of pig. If we couldn't sell the meat we wouldn't breed the pigs. Some pigs we keep for meat and others we sell on to breeders. This way we are doing our bit to save the Gloucester Old Spot breed.

Back to sausage making! You weigh out the pork mince into portions which will give you 1kg of sausage meat when mixed with the flavouring, rusk and water.

We are using a sausage machine which make most of the meat into sausages, with a little mince left over in the nozzle to make into a couple of pork burgers or sausage rolls for something completely different.

You chose your flavouring, mix it with pre-measured amounts of rusk and water, add the mince and hey presto! your sausage meat is ready. You will be given a length of natural sausage skin to load onto the machine nozzle, put your sausage meat into the container and away you go making your very own sausages. When you have a long length of sausage you will be shown how to twist it into individual sausages. See how close you can get to making them look like the ones in a butcher’s window!

A kilo of personally made sausages including a super recipe book is just £15!

"I didn't realise making sausages was so much fun and I haven't laughed so much for ages" - Rebecca

Pig Feeders

We have three second hand pig feeders for sale. They are operated by the pig pushing the treadle and releasing the food onto the plate and are very useful during the ad lib feeding of weaners. They are very sturdy and well designed with metal loops to be moved by tractor if needed.

They are £100 each.
