Testimonials

13th Oct 2009

Dear Alison

I am so very grateful to you for making it possible for us to have our chickens. Without your chicken course I don't think I would have felt confident enough to get them - it was just what we needed to set us on the road to chickens.

We decided to take on some ex-battery chickens and today they are scratching around in their run. I just love watching them! We are now waiting excitedly for our first egg!

Children's Chicken Keeper Course £25

This Children's Chicken Keeper course is aimed at children aged between 8 and 12 who want to keep chickens and will give them the confidence to start on a very rewarding hobby.

The course runs for 3 hours with a maximum of 4 children to ensure that each child is given maximum attention. They will enjoy meeting other children with the same excitement in keeping chickens and previous delegates have made some firm friends on the course!

It is a practical course and our day will start at 9.30am with letting out our rare breed chickens, feeding them and cleaning houses due to be done on that day's rota. Eggs from the pens will also need to be collected. That is followed by a practical session on wing clipping, applying louse powder and how to handle a hen close up. After a break for a drink and a biscuit they will have the fun of using the eggs collected to make cakes to take home for a family treat.

The next course dates are on the right hand side.
