Testimonials

13th Oct 2009

Hi Alison

Just wanted to thank you for an excellent course on Sunday.

I have learnt so much, and the chance to handle the chickens and have a go at wing clipping which can be nerve-wrecking for a first timer has instilled so much more confidence.

I can't now wait to own some chickens for myself and look forward to dealing with you again in the future.

Any aspiring chicken keeper should attend this course!

Best wishes for your ongoing success.

Please feel free to use this testimonial.

Kind Regards

Samantha Tanner

Advanced Chicken Keeper Course £50

This Advanced Chicken Keeper Course is aimed at anyone who has kept chickens for a while and wants to know more. The course will answer the queries that you have wondered about and sort out the conflicting advice to be found on the internet. It will also find answers for the practical problems you have come across. The objective of the course is to provide you with all the information you need to keep your chickens happy and healthy and the course has a maximum of 6 people to ensure that it is tailored to each delegate’s needs. The course runs for 3 hours and will cover the following topics:

  • What your hen is telling you
  • Why layers pellets
  • Food and Health Supplements
  • Chicken Anatomy
  • Common Problems
  • What injuries can you treat yourself?
  • A closer look at eggs
  • Selling eggs
  • Incubation, hatching and rearing

It is an afternoon course and will start with a cup of tea or coffee and a chat about the course to come. The course is a mixture of informal classroom sessions and outdoor practical ‘hands on’ sessions with the chickens. If you have any queries or problems after the course you can phone or email Alison and she will research the answer if she doesn’t know it on the spot.

The cost of the course is £50, to include a book. You don’t need to bring anything with you for the course except a pair of wellies or old shoes that don’t mind mud. Further people from the same household will only be £35 each as you will only need one book.

The next course dates are on the right hand side.
